If you plan to travel to Malaysia, you will benefit from knowing the best places to eat, in order to enjoy the local cuisine. I prefer knowing where to taste the best local food whenever I travel, which is why I spend some time researching about the places where they serve authentic dishes which are definitely must-tries!

When you’re done touring the different parks and sceneries, you would definitely want to fill up your tummy with some delectable food. While you can easily go to an international fast food place, part of making your travel more memorable is by tasting the local cuisine rich with flavors given by native ingredients. Here are the three best places to eat in Malaysia, and what you can expect from them:

  • Enak – Enak is one of the most high-end places in Bukit Bintang, where you can expect classic Malaysian dishes with a modern gourmet twist. They give their guests the goodness of home-cooked meals with the ambience of a fine dining restaurant. They have the best traditional dishes such as rendang padang, different kinds of satays, and gado-gado. You must also try their botok-botok, which is mackerel steamed in some spices mixed with laksa leaves, cassava shoots, and papaya.
  • Lot 10 Hutong Food Court – A more budget-friendly option for tasting a wide variety of Malaysian dishes, the Lot 10 Hutong Food Court has a variety of stalls, which is their local version of hawker food places. Some of the most famous places to try out are Soong Kee Beef Noodles, Ho Weng Kee’s Chinese Char Siew for some flavorful pork char siew, and Imbi Road Original Pork Noodles. The budget needed for these places is just minimal and you can enjoy a lot of food options.
  • Restoran SS2 Murni – If you want to try different varieties of mamak or local Malaysian food, Restoran SS2 Murni is where you want to be. They serve different kinds of roti, and full meals of nasi lemak which can be considered as a great meal any time of the day! Be prepared for a little wait, though, because this place often has a lot of visitors.

Try out these places the next time you travel and taste the flavors of Malaysia!
