A Review of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders – Do They Really Do Something for the Face?

I’ve seen a lot of celebrities and makeup gurus use this product and because of this, I have decided to give you my take on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. Basically, these are finishing powders which give your makeup that complete and polished look. They’re not exactly highlighters nor are they setting powders, but I think they can be used for both of these purposes. If you want something more neutral while being able to achieve a finished and highlighted look, this is one effective product you should try out.

It’s known how makeup can add a new look and dimension to your face and if done with the right products that match your skin tone, the results can be astonishing. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders have shades such as Radiant Light, Diffused Light, and Mood Light. The powders are finely-milled and are fragrance-free, so if you’re concerned if it could be a potentially irritating product, its being fragrance-free is definitely a plus point.

These powders can be used as a finishing powder, or you can even use it as your base if you want a subtle yet glowing look. Their superfine quality matched with the “ambient” shades help give the skin a nice glow to it—something which cannot be seen in other matte-finish powders or setting powders.

Fair-skinned ladies would benefit from Diffused Light, but I think they should avoid Radiant Light since it brightens up the face too much. Radiant Light is a good highlighter, though! Medium skin tones would benefit from Dim Light, one of the top sellers, but shouldn’t buy Luminous Light since it would look off with their skin tone. For those who have darker skin, Radiant Light is a must-have to give them that nice glow, but Mood Light should be avoided since it would give them an ashy appearance.

Finding the right shade may be tricky initially, but if you already have an idea about your skin tone and what would look best on you, then these powders are a great addition to your beauty arsenal. I say these ambient powders work, but only when you know which shade complements your skin!
