What Are The Five Most Essential Makeup Brushes?

Makeup brushes

Sometimes shopping for makeup brushes can be quite daunting. Some brushes come in shapes that look way too complicated. Not to mention the sets that seem to have dozens if very strange options. In order to cut through the confusion, here is a good list of five basic brushes that can help you complete your everyday makeup look. Three of the top names in makeup brushes are Trish McEvoy, Laura Mercier, and Bobbi Brown.

Concealer
Since one of her cosmetic cornerstones is concealer, Laura has perfected the Secret Camouflage (concealer) Brush to match; it blends the product seamlessly and undetectably.

Powder Brush
Blend everything to a flawless finish with a good quality powder brush such as Bobbi Brown’s Powder Brush.

Blush Brush or Blender
Whether you need M20 Face Blender for cream blushes or 2B Blush Brush for powders, Trish McEvoy knows that blending your cheek color is absolutely essential.

Eyeshadow Brush
The unique angle on Laura Mercier’s Angled Eye Colour Brush makes this one surprisingly easy to use.

Lash and Brow Spoolie
Keep one of these around to smooth your brows into place and to separate your lashes after you apply mascara. Stick with inexpensive brands on this tool because there is no reason to pay more; try Eyes Lips Face (ELF) Eyelash & Brow Wand for a great deal.

I do find it best that if you use different shades of blush or eyeshadow on a regular basis, that you keep one brush per shade. I prefer not to mix the shades on the brush because they end up just muddy when mixed together like that. You would have a hard time getting a true color again, unless you wash it thoroughly after every use.
