Sephora Announces New Monthly Beauty Box

Sephora is finally getting into the beauty box subscription service! Their new service, named ‘Play!’ will be launching in September and will be available in Boston, Cincinnati, and Columbus before expanding to more US cities in 2016.

This might just be the best news of 2015 for makeup lovers in the States! Sephora has become a favorite stop for all makeup enthusiasts, and the fun and convenience of this beauty box has already been embraced by fans of the store. I love the idea of beauty box subscriptions—it’s such a great way to find new products—and I think this is a great move on Sephora’s part.

It’s really awesome to see such a huge brand like Sephora listen to their customers and give them exactly what they want. I love this announcement and hope that the trial months are a success so that it will expand into my town!

The boxes will be sent out monthly and will contain 5 products, with the products being chosen to fit around a certain theme. September’s theme has already been announced as “Uncover the Essentials,” and the box will include Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil, Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Face Crème, Sephora Collection Rouge Infusion Lip Gloss, Glamglow Supercleanse Cleaners and a Marc Jacobs Beauty Highlighter Eyeliner. This box definitely has all the essentials covered!

The service also includes a lot of fun tie-ins, such as a “Play! Book,” which dishes on fun beauty tricks and tips while also revealing cool facts about that month’s products. Subscribers will also be able to get content through Sephora’s phone app, and a special “Play! Pass” will gives subscribers access to one-on-one in-store tutorials. For the first month, there’s also a Spotify playlist included, to give you the perfect tunes to listen to while trying out your new products!

There are so many great things about this new service, but the best thing of all? It’s only $10 a month! Now that’s value.
