Did you know that the skin around your eyes is structurally very different from the skin everywhere else on your face? It’s thinner, has hardly any oil glands, and has to deal with almost constant wear and tear from the blinking that you do. This leaves the eye area more vulnerable to damage. Sadly, this becomes even more of a problem in the winter months. The appearance of puffiness, dark circles, crow’s feet, and dryness becomes much more prevalent at this time of the year.
This is something that I personally experience each and every winter. However, this fall, I discovered the Amber Collection – a trio of eye care products from the high-end Lionesse brand. While all three products probably won’t be needed by most (more on this later), I decided to splurge and get them all. Now that winter has firmly set in, here’s what my skin thinks of each of these products:
The Amber Eye Serum

Eye serums are a great way to pamper the delicate skin around the eyes. The Lionesse Amber Eye Serum promises to take this even further. It features a blend of superstar ingredients that are often recommended by dermatologists.
Peptides, for example, sit at the top of this serum’s ingredient list. They leave the skin feeling stronger and more resilient. Meanwhile, sodium hyaluronate is loved for its hydrating properties. When applied in a high enough concentration, which this serum offers, it immediately gives the skin a plumper and more voluminous finish.
I’ve noticed a few differences in my complexion after using this eye serum for several weeks. My skin feels much softer and smoother. The crow’s feet that were developing around my eyes now look barely noticeable. I also had a few dark spots developing around my eyes. However, they can also hardly be seen now. This is likely due to the vitamin C and licorice root extract in this eye serum. Both are known for lightening the visibility of discoloration.
The Amber Eye Cream

While puffy eye bags make sporadic appearances on my face throughout the year, they’re always worse in the winter. The Lionesse Amber Eye Cream is quite a multipurpose moisturizer, although one of its claims is to reduce the look of puffiness under the eyes.
Surprisingly, because no other eye creams have actually managed to do this, the Amber Eye Cream holds true to its promises. I pat some onto my skin whenever I wake up with puffy eyes in the morning. It doesn’t take long before my eye area looks significantly smoother and firmer.
There are several ingredients in this eye cream that likely contribute to this. Caffeine is known for leaving blood vessels feeling constricted, which instantly makes swelling and puffiness less visible. Peptides enhance this smooth look, as do the antioxidants in this eye cream. Thanks to green tea, aloe vera, licorice root, and other botanicals, there are plenty of them in there!
The Amber Dark Circle Eye Cream

While the Amber Eye Cream can help with the appearance of dark circles to an extent, the Amber Dark Circle Eye Cream was designed to produce even better visible results when it comes to this common issue.
It contains a bounty of ingredients that have been proven to help with the visibility of dark circles, such as caffeine, vitamin A, and vitamin C. They’re all known for how they brighten the look of the skin and lighten the appearance of shadows and discoloration.
Does it actually work? Heck, yes! It works almost straight away, making the skin around my eyes look even and radiant. I alternate this eye cream with the Amber Eye Cream, depending on whether my eye area looks puffy or shadowed in the morning. Either way, it means that the skin around my eyes looks healthier now than it has for a long time!
Final Thoughts on the Lionesse Amber Collection
As I mentioned earlier, it’s unlikely you’ll need all three of these eye care products. However, I would highly recommend purchasing the eye serum and one of the eye creams if you’ve been trying to tackle the appearance of visible skin concerns around your eyes. Match the problems that you’ve been dealing with to the right cream, and you’ll soon have a much fresher-looking eye area.
