Easy DIY Skin Care Remedies

Having a soft, smooth skin is one of the most important things you have to make sure you do if you want to have a flawless appearance. There are a plenty of makeup products that allow you to take care and nourish your skin but what makes most of us look for an alternative way of taking care of our skin is the fact that makeup products contain lots of chemicals. Thus, if you are looking for DIY skin care remedies that promise to take care of your skin without any risks of harming your health then read below to find some useful tips.

Coconut Oil Facial

As we all know coconut oil is very beneficial as it contains healthy fats that are necessary for your skin. Besides it can help to deal with skin puffiness due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Thus, make coconut oil body butter and perfectly nourish your skin.

Ingredients:
½ cup Coconut oil
15 drops of lime oil or of another essential oil of your preference.

Blend the coconut oil well and once you notice that it’s starting to soften add the essential oil drops and mix well till it’s whipped. Feel free to use it as much as you want until the date that the coconut oil will be expired. Also remember, if you’ve used lime oil then make sure you won’t apply the lotion on your skin before you are going out into the sun in order to avoid skin irritation.

Grapefruit and Brown Sugar Facial

Rich in vitamin C grapefruit combined with brown sugar can be the best facial scrub.

½ peeled, pink grapefruit
1 cup brown sugar
water or grapefruit juice

First blend together the grapefruit and the sugar until smooth. To make this process easier add some water or grapefruit juice, preferably 1 tablespoon at first and then more if needed.

How to use it

Apply from 1-2 tablespoons of the scrub on your damp skin and massage your face with it. You can also leave it on for a while and then gently wipe it away with a damp towel.

Chocolate Facial

Not only delicious but actually perfect for your skin health! Create a chocolate facial mask that will perfectly nourish your skin.

1/2 ripe avocado
1 handful almonds (10-12 nuts)
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp raw cacao powder

Note: All the ingredients mentioned above are to be used in order to create a mask for 2 or 3 applications.

Blend all the ingredients together for about 30 seconds. Now if you are having trouble blending it feel free to add some water in order to make the process easier. Once it’s ready apply it on clean skin, leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse off.

Pineapple, Honey and Almond Facial

Another amazing DIY way of treating your skin is the pineapple honey and almond facial scrub, which will clean your skin, moisturize and perfectly nourish it.

Ingredients:
1 small pineapple
2 tsp sweet almond oil
1 tsp honey

Use only the yellow part of the pineapple, chop it and put it on a blender and blend it well. Next step add almond oil and honey and blend again for about 10 seconds. Check to get the right consistency, as you don’t want it too thick or too runny. Now once it’s ready, apply it on damp skin and massage your face with it but avoid eyes area. You can use from 1-2 teaspoons of the mixture. Keep massaging for 5 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water.

Aloe and Calendula Facial

This amazing DYI skin care cleansing cream not only helps to maintain your skin’s health but also helps to remove makeup excess from it.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup almond or sunflower oil
2 tablespoons coconut oil (extra-virgin)
2 tablespoons beeswax
1 teaspoon anhydrous lanolin
1/4 cup pure aloe vera juice
3 tablespoons strong calendula blossom or chamomile flower tea

1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin
1 large (2 small) vitamin E oil capsules
15 drops lavender essential oil
15 drops rosemary or geranium essential oil
8 drops calendula essential oil, optional

Warm the base oils, lanolin and beeswax over low heat in a double boiler until wax melts. Warm the aloe vera juice, tea and vegetable glycerin as well using another pan. Once you remove both from the heat follow adding the oils, wax and lanolin mixture into the blender and let it cool down until the mixture thickens. You can also stir it a bit in order to remove any bumps. Now cover up the blender but remove the lid’s plastic piece. Now slowly sieve the watery juice, tea and glycerin mixture through the center of the lid and you’ll notice how the cream will begin to thicken. Keep blending for 10 or 15 seconds until you’re done adding the watery mixture. Check the consistency of the mixture, it should be smooth. Add the vitamin E capsule and squeeze the contents into the cream, add the essential oils blend again for 5 seconds. Pour the cream into a container, let it cool and cap it. Now after couple days the water looks separated from the cream then just pour it off and use the rest of the cream for your foot or elbow. Now once it’s ready apply 1/2 to 1 teaspoon to cover your entire face and start cleansing using a soft cloth.

Foot Scrub

One of the best DYI remedies for your feet, as it helps to moisturize and soften your feet! Thus make a strawberry peppermint foot scrub and take care of your feet.

Ingredients:
2 cups pureed strawberries
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
4 drops peppermint essential oil

Blend all ingredients together and put them into a container. Now, to use it right rub the scrub into your feet and rinse off with warm water. This is one of the easiest ways to exfoliate and soften your skin!

Brightening Facial Mask

Brighten your skin by using green papaya and the results won’t be disappointing! Rich the results of a shiny and healthy looking skin easily DIY.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup unripe papaya, diced
1 teaspoon plain yogurt
1 teaspoon honey

Blend all ingredients together until smooth and apply the mixture on clean skin. Leave it on for 8 minutes. Now rinse off with cool water and dry your skin and that’s it!
