The Monochromatic Makeup Look

Woman having her makeup done professionally

This particular trend comes and goes, and right now it is getting a huge boost! The monochromatic makeup look does not mean it has to be boring though. When you choose the same color for your eyes, lips, and cheeks, it can be a quick and easy way to look pulled together without having to spend too much time making sure that everything coordinates perfectly. When it is the same color, it automatically matches!

Do be careful though, not all colors work for eyes and lips and cheeks. If you are new to this look, start with an easy color like a warm peach or a rosy nude pink (depending on if your underlying skin tone is warm or cool).

The easiest products for this look are creamy sticks, blended onto the eyelids and cheeks with the fingertips. A good blending brush will also help blend away any uneven or harsh edges.

Some of most recommended products for this look are:

  • The perfectly portable Bite Beauty Multistick comes in a wide variety of almost twenty shades, everything from the pretty pop of pink of Lotus to the nude shades of Brioche and Cashew to the deeply enchanting Biscotti.
  • The iconic NARS Multiple has long been a favorite multi-use product, available in sheer pop colors, illuminating colors, and of course their famous perfect-for-every-skin-type shade of Orgasm.
  • If you prefer a more organic and natural option, make sure to look at the gorgeous soft shades of Vapour Beauty Aura Multi-Use Classic.  All of these colors seem universally flattering especially the Spark or Charm.

So while this may not be an everyday look, it is a great idea to keep one of these sticks around for those mornings when you hit the snooze bar one too many times.
