Do 3-In-1 Products Really Exist?

Woman applying makeup

In my efforts to minimalize, I’ve been looking into the 3-in-1 concept. I am referring to the makeup sticks or pencils that can be used as eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick.

The most popular version of this concept is NARS The Multiple. While I love the idea, and this product is well-loved, I’m not convinced that their colors would truly work on my eyes, cheeks, and lips. Firstly, most of the colors seem very shimmery and I prefer creamy or matte finishes. Secondly, the pale pink that I might choose for an eyeshadow probably would not lend itself to flattering my cheeks and lips. But if I choose a darker pink for my cheeks and lips, what on earth will that do to my eyes?

That begs the question: if you were to design your very own 3-in-1 product, what formula would you choose and what color? My personal choice would probably be a stick for its moisturizing properties as well as the ease of blending. But the color issue still stumps me. I think that perhaps a dusty rose would be the best for my skin tone. It can’t be too brown for my cheeks and lips and it can’t be too pink for my eyes, and certainly nothing shimmery or glittery.

I’ve spotted a good possibility on Etsy, the 3 in 1 Color Stick by CandidRouge. I think colorwise I would ideally choose a mix of Pink Petals and Plum Rouge, but I will probably end up getting the Pink Petals. Even if it doesn’t work as an eyeshadow, it looks like it would be a beautiful blush and lipstick!

My search continues. I would love to hear if you have found a product that works for this purpose, or rather all three purposes!
