Easy DIY Healthy Hair Recipes

We all have had those mornings when you wake up, look in the mirror, notice your hair and feel a deep desperation (especially those with curly hair). Luckily there are several things that through experimenting have been proved to be very effective. Some of them require a couple of stuff, others require visiting the closest store. No matter what it’s still certainly more affordable than the majority of the products out there.

Hair Repairing Mask

Going to the kitchen? What would you need to find there? 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar! What would you make out by mixing them all? A new hair repair recipe that you would need to apply on unwashed hair! Clip it up and let it sit for 30-60 minutes, rinse it out and wash your hair in the end as usual.

Beer Hair Mask

It’s a well-known fact that molt and hops found in beer are incredibly good for hair. They make hair a lot softer and less prone to tangling. If you add to that apple cider vinegar, which helps to wash away all the product build up coating you hair, you will get an amazing look for your hair. What do you need to accomplish that? A quarter of a cup of apple cider vinegar and a cup of beer, simply mix them together, pour it on your hair, let it stay for 5 minutes and the wash with warm water.

Avocado Hair Mask

If you wish to have a smooth texture then avocado is the answer for you. It is known to be a great deep conditioner and all you need for it is to mix it with a tablespoon of olive oil. Just mash the avocado in a bowl and blend it with olive oil. Apply it on your hair and cover your head with a shower cap for about 20 minutes. In the end as usual just wash your hair.

Oily Hair Treatment

What’s the deal with oily hair? It is hard to find something to deal with it all day long. Even harder to shower every morning and by the time you get home from work, you realize that your tresses are as oily as they would be if they weren’t washed for a week. There is a solution even for that luckily. What’s needed? 5 tablespoons of plain yoghurt, 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Simply mix the yogurt, the baking soda and the lemon juice all-together. Right after apply it on your hair as closely to the roots as possible, leave it for about 30-40 minutes and then rinse. Be aware not to use this method more than once a week.

Banana Hair Mask

Ever thought that bananas can be good for hair? Yet it’s true. They make your hair shiny, soft, manageable and healthy looking. Try it out and you’ll be surprised by the results. Especially if you have fizzy and uncontrollable hair this is the best option! Take 2 bananas and mash them together as much as possible, then whisk your egg whites in a separate bowl. On the next step add 2 tablespoons of yoghurt, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 more of honey. In the end add the egg whites and just mix them all. At first you have to wash your hair, once you are done with that, you add the mixture, put a shower cap and sit for 30 minutes. Rinse your hair and with a fine tooth comb get rid of any banana bits stuck to your hair. Also apply some shampoo to the hair, then rinse it off.

Mayo Hair Mask

Is it summer? Does it make your hair dry, brittle and broken? No need to worry. It may sound a little bit gross but you have to weigh the options. Mayonnaise. It’s the cure for all the above-mentioned unwanted conditions. The idea might freak you out at first, but once you see the results it would be a very small price to pay for. Also a small detail, you have to mix it with honey, which will require 3 bottles of shampoo to wash it off. It’s so worth it! If you have medium length hair you’ll need about half cup of mayo, in case you have shorter you’ll need less than half cup. For every half cup of mayo you’ll need 2 tablespoons of honey. Simply mix them together, apply on dry hair and let the mixture to sit on for a whole hour. Rinse your hair. Keep applying shampoo and rinsing until your hair is mayo-free. Don’t apply condition though!

Oatmeal Hair Treatment

Need healthy looking hair and silky texture? Only 3 ingredients needed for that. One of them is Oatmeal. Take half cup of oats, 2 tablespoons of almond oil (or olive oil in case u lack the former) and half cup of milk. Mix them all together and apply on dry hair, allow it to sit for approx. 20-30 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Also apply shampoo normally.
