Strangest Facial Treatments

The world is strange. That is a statement I will never take back. I mean, have you seen some of the weirdest facial treatments lately? Some of them make me wonder how people discovered them and why they would go to such lengths, but then again, it’s all for the name of beauty, right? If you don’t know how strange things can get, here, let me share with you some weird facial treatments:

  • Egg yolk – I’ve tried eggs on my hair before, and I have to admit, it did give me straight, healthy hair. So when I found out that it can also be used on the face, I tried it for myself. It was slimy, but it totally felt soothing afterwards. I noticed firmness to my skin and my face didn’t feel dry. I can’t guarantee the same results if your skin is not the same type as mine though.
  • Preparation H – H stands for hemorrhoid cream. Yes, you read that right. It is apparently effective against eye bags and puffiness and this is why many personalities are raving about it. I don’t know if I’m going to try this one though. It seems to have a strong smell, and that’s a big deterrent for me, as I am always in the presence of people and smelling weird might cause some reactions.
  • Chocolate – This one’s something I am eager to try even though I would not want the chocolate to go to waste. This is effective as a facial treatment and is being offered in many spas because of the health benefits dark chocolate can provide for the skin. When consumed, it lowers high blood pressure, but when applied as a facial mask, it can reduce wrinkles and even undo sun damage.
  • Gold facial – If I had the money, I would bathe myself in gold. That won’t be impossible now that many beauty products seem to incorporate gold in them. You can even have a gold facial! This one apparently reduces signs of aging while also firming up the skin. I would expect nothing less, since it involves gold after all. Spas can use 24-karat gold mixed with some hydrating compound and mist and the treatment costs around $500.

There are also other treatments for the body that apparently help make us look younger and retain that youthful glow. However, most of these are expensive, so I’m not sure if I will ever try them. Aside from that, there’s also the issue of them being just too weird for my liking. But everyone is free to try them and see if they really do benefit the skin!
